(Just a small noticing. Posting it only because it briefly caught my attention—something a little different from the usual noise.)
Sometimes when scrolling through smaller corners of the internet—local groups, quieter platforms—I come across things that stay with me longer than expected.
There's one account in particular. It posts on a rhythm you could set a watch to. Every hour, maybe more. Always the same thing: a weather report, pulled from some Raspberry Pi weather station. Same format. Same cadence.
I noticed it once. Forgot. Then weeks later, noticed again. And again.
No recognition to speak of. No crowd gathering. Just—a quiet persistence. Like throwing little messages into the ocean, whether or not anyone answers back.
Maybe it's automated. Probably is. But even knowing that, something about it feels different.
It's not desperate. It's not empty. It's just—there. A signal kept alive without reward.
I saw something similar once on a different page. Same rhythm, same feeling. Maybe it's the same person. Maybe it's nobody at all. Maybe it doesn't matter.
What matters is someone kept sending out the signal anyway.
Even when the world looked away. Even when nobody answered. Even when it would have been easier to stop.
There’s something almost beautiful about that. Or maybe haunting.
Maybe both.
